Carbink Plush

This one was pretty difficult to make, and gave me some enormous headaches. In particular, the top ring of his little fluffy collar took me about 3 hours to sew on because I had to make sure his little fluff ridge didn't cover up his eyes, and then I had to sew both the inner and the outer part of the collar. Phew. Other minor gripes is that his rock is probably a little too fat, and his bottom gem doesn't stick out enough, probably a result of the rock fabric stretching and also possibly due to a geometric miscalculation. Oh well. On the plus side, I managed to finish this project without stabbing myself hard enough to draw blood! Must be a sign I'm improving.

He's 10 inches tall standing up to the top of his head gem, which is very close to the official 12 inches, so I'm gonna go ahead and consider it life-sized. He's made with minky with embroidered eyes; after making the pattern, I finished him in 3 days over the Thanksgiving break, though I worked at least six hours on two of the days. I was considering using some sort of shiny fabric for the gemstones but couldn't find any shiny fabric that would've been appropriate for a plush project. I was also considering using pure diamond, but I ran into a... minor issue acquiring them.  

What's next? Well, I have to study for finals soon, but next up I'm hoping to make a Goomy and a Sliggoo plush over the winter, to round off the Goodra plush that I previously made. Furthermore, I'm gonna make the Goomy pattern available for download! He's a simple little blob so I'm sure that won't take TOO long, although you never know.
